it's probably cause your not lining your faceplate up right.
try just holding it on with out any screws and move it around until it works good. then put the screws it.

it seems like the button is hitting the screen support
and for some reason when im like in interent exporer or in a game the seector just wants to wander to the upper left i think thats from the analog stick

i added some new information and editing doenst bump it
I have been through that already your best bet is not to tighten the faceplate to much, while you are in a game that you know uses the analog stick alot just adjust the screws and also you might have to check or replace the little soft plastic connector because it might be placed wrong and is not feeding the data to the psp correctly, but it is very sensitive so watch out how you take it out I already destroyed one but I have a lot of psp for parts so i fixed it quick.

The whole autoscrolling problem may be the joystick as ninja said... When i put my first faceplate on i screwed the joystick screws in too tight and if any PSP game used the joystick, it would constantly slowly scroll up. I loosened the joystick screws a lil bit and it fixed it...

My guess is that the lcd cage is a bit off. I would try taking it apart and screwing everything back in. Maybe if the wifi antenna cable was in the wrong position it could offset the lcd cage causing the rubber contacts for the analog to be off along with blocking the right dpad from being pressed.
Or... I suppose it could be the faceplate. If it is loose fitting or badly formed it can cause the analog to have a mind of its own. I hear circling the joystick during coldboot can help center it.. but iunno.

thanks i know its not the faceplate cause its still stock and it cant be overtightened cause it does it even with no screws in i think it may be the cage is off ill look at it later and let u know
