Okay, I got my PSP Silver Slim yesterday as a gift.

It came with a 1GB Pro Duo stick

Now, today I went to GameStop and bought a 3.6v 2200 mAh battery. This will be my *REPLACEMENT* battery. I'm going to use the battery that came with my PSP as the Pandora battery (3.6v 1200 mAh).

Is it possible to create a Pandora battery and Magick Memory Stick with the material I have?

If so, after I have downgraded, is it possible to format and reuse the 1 GB stick?

The battery I bought today was pretty expensive, and I was too broke to buy another stick.

I can reuse the magick stick as a normal stick afterwards, right?

Also, if all above is true, can someone link me to a really good tutorial for the type of material I have?

    Much appreciated

    ~Nathan.

    1. Yes, it is possible, you have all the required items, you do need a PC (xp or vista)
    2. Yes you can reuse the stick.
    3. Again, yes you can use the stick again.

Here's the guide to make the BATTERY.

Once that is done, here are the files for the memory stick:

Well good luck, and remember you don't need to solder anything if you don't have soldering skills.

    Good luck.

I'm about to cut this thing open, however I was told something by a guy at EB earlier.

Is it possible to actually softmod the battery with a program?

That way I don't have to cut the battery open and risk ruining it?

Would you believe I just modded mine with the exact same setup? The 2200 I bought doesn't allow the old battery cover on but lasts twice as long.

You can re-format the memory stick and it is as good as new (like me, though I backed up my game data).

Also when I cut open the battery it sparked and smelled bad, accidently grazed the lithium battery, but it still worked. So be careful and don't cut into it deeply.

Also I bought my 2200 battery for 25$, a steal. What you pay for yours?

It is possible Nate but you need a PSP with CFW already installed on it...If you don't have access to one then I'm afraid your only option is to hardmod it which, as I told you, is quite esy to do...Remember, the hardest part is getting the battery open

Very true. That damn battery had me up until 5 AM! I spent 3 hours trying to open it and bust that damn pin off! I never realized the chip would be so small, it seems bigger in the pictures...

For those of you who don't know that chip is so small 4 of them could fit on your pinkie nail. Nearly impossible to solder, at least for me, and I have made a few PCB's in my time(not to say im that great at it, but I have no idea how anyone could have such a steady hand...

Well you're lucky, Lord Xenu, I looked all over and the best price I could find was 45 dollars -_-'.

There was always the Internet, but with all the crazy holiday shipping going on, it'd take years to get the battery, so I bit the bullet, lol.

Well I gave up on the battery last night, my father was watching a movie and asked if we could do it today. So with his help, I'm sure I can get the darn thing off. Lord Xenu, why didn't you just save your time and use the method that doesn't require the soldering? :P

He's generally good with this kind of stuff, so hopefully we won't see too many sparks

I'll give you guys an update.

Once I'm all modded I hope to stick around the community and maybe contribute a litttle. This is a great thing you guys have going
