Hard modding vs soft modding

i heard u can soft mod yr battery to make it a pandora instead of opening the entire battery and pulling the pin... is it true?

p.s. i have a psp phat 3.80 (official firmware)
need to put CFW on it

you can softmod it if you already have cfw. its done using UPMS

You'll need to know someone with a pandora's battery to put CFW on yours first then soft mod yours. But the chances of that are unlikely, so you'll either have to buy one or hardmod(better choice) it.
