    I have a bricked phat psp and have tried everything to fix it. I bought a pandora battery, and it works. It turns the PSP on and all that. I have a 4gb sony mem stick, was told it wont work, so bought a Lexar 512 stick to use. I have tried turning it into a MMS multiple ways, from the default cmd way, to the easyinstaller. No matter what when I put the MS in and put in the pandora battery I get all SOLID lights, and no screen. I have pressed x to no avail.

    What can I do?

    i don't know why the sony 4 gig shouldn't work, i have a 4 gig san disk and it turned into a MMS easily. As for your problem, for the easy installer you must follow all of the steps exactly. Also, it wont work on vista 32 or 64 bit. you must use xp or lower.

    Just posted this same reply in another post (I'm doing a Copy-Paste)

    If your magic memory stick is made to install 3.71 M33 then it will boot up but will not show up on your screen cos 3.71 M33 does not have a proper display driver for Slim psp,..... In that case you just have to blindly press X to install CFW right after inserting the battery...... It will get installed without displaying anything on screen
    ..... But if your magic memory stick is programmed to install 3.71 M33-2 and above then you should get a display ........ If not then all i can say is try each and every MMS creator that you can find in the net, and before installing cfw, fully charge your pandora battery

    Edit:- You can use catb50's MMS creator,... It's one of the best that i came around ..... Here's the download link.. Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!
    Firmware History :- PSP Slim with OFW 3.72 => 3.71 M33 => 3.71 M33-4 => 3.90 M33 => 3.90 M33-3 => 4.01 M33 => 4.01 M33-2

    ive heard that lexar has problems sometimes ( yes i read the forums... ) and that also you need the sony approved psp mms, and at least 1gb, and 4gb dont work for some unknown reason, where do i get my sources? from these forums. just search and you will find
    PSP Timeline: 3.72 OFW > 3.93 OFW > Pandora > 3.80 m33-5 > 5.00 m33-3 > 5.00 m33-4 > 5.00 m33-6

    After trying every way possible to make a MMS for the PSP Phat I have come to the conclusion, with a few friends help, that the PSP Phat is bricked other than the usual firmware stuff. I think I broke the mobo or something...I will just go and but a new PSP, maybe a slim.

    Sorry about that. We tried to help. Make 100% sure the motherboard is broken like you said it was. Don't waste $169.00 on a brand new psp when you could just fix your old one.
