I'm not sure exactly when this started but whenever i try moving files onto my psp through usb mode, it fails. i get the error message "cannot copy_____: file not found. make sure you specify the correct path and file name". then the psp disk drive window closes and the psp says "please wait..."

I can put files on the card itself when i put the card in my laptop [but my laptop is made for ms pro, not ms pro duo, and i don't want to have to fish my memory card out of the port everytime i want to put something on my psp [it won't read the card if i put it in a ms pro adapter before putting it in my pc]].

Is there anything i can do to make my usb connection cooperate?

From what I can tell, it may be the memory stick that is corrupted.
    What size is it?

could the memory stick become corrupted through putting it in a port not necessarily designed for it. [ie memory stick pro duo in a memory stick pro slot without using a memory stick pro adapter]?

no...no i did not...yet. but if the card works when i put it into my laptop and only doesn't when i'm using usb connection, then shouldn't the problem be with the usb connection and not the card? or could there be a problem with the card that would not allow usb connection?

ok so if you havent figured this out already you have a bad usb cable.plain and simple. i had the same issue when i was using a usb/charging cable that i now just use as a power source when i am at my computron.
If using a new cable doesnt work come slap me and tell me i was stupid and wrong

well i tried a different usb cable and i didn't have any trouble moving files. to make sure it was the cable i decided to use my old one for the same files, and that worked too. maybe it's because i upgraded my firmware.

It's the plastic buttons. Your PSP is moody because it's not modded.
