01-12-2009, 08:55 PM I was looking at the colored face plates by XCM and was wondering couldn't u just paint your face plate yourself? Has anyone seen anyone or heard of anyone doing this? You'd be able to use pearls, mattes, and candies and make a wicked looking PSP.

01-12-2009, 09:03 PM Plenty of people have done it, but the plastic that the faceplate is made of is designed to take a beating.
Paint is absolutely not. People that have the most success are the ones that spray an automotive urethane through a hobby airbrush.
I just simply got an XCM faceplate. I have the airbrush and everything to do it since I also do model cars, but I just didn't feel like going through the effort.
01-12-2009, 09:09 PM Get a clear faceplate and airbrush or paint from the inside. That way the outer part will be nice and shiny, It looks like a sheet of glass over the paint, also if you drop it, you wont scratch the paint.
01-12-2009, 11:01 PM Good call, why didn't I think of that? Should definitely retain the clean fit and finish while protecting the paint at the same time.
01-12-2009, 11:05 PM if only i had an airbrush of my own. ive thought about painting mine with sharpies but thinking back to when i had my gameboy and actually put that idea to work... i dont want the ink rubbing off on me again lol.
