Ok this is weird I dropped my psp in a pool (totally thought I'm screwed) went out bought a new and everything. then went to check out the old one some time later and it seemed to work it powers on everything works in the menu mode put as soon as you start a game either a umd or psx eboot all buttons stop working except the home button but can't exit a game because none of the other buttons work to select any thing. If anyone can help totally appreciate it.

no this sounds like a faulty firmware install use this File Details-Recovery-Flasher-v1.60-PSP - to reflash your firmware also you'd be well off to ignore him he never gives advice (good anyway)

ok i am trying that give you an update asap thanks
ok took me awhile but what did was what you told me then from there upgraded to 3.52 m33 then put the 3.53 m33-3 update then 5.00 m33-4 on and it freakin' works at least my psx ff9 works have to try umd when i get home.
