The modding is cool! But is that safety? Could it damage psp? or even blow up?
It said that the mod will never explode by using li-po batteries while not li-ion. Is that true? There is a dozen of video about explosion of li-po on youtube. Which should I believe?

I wouldn't hold that with both hands while aiming it towards my face.

I'd want to be about 15 feet away when you plug it in to charge too.

That's not really a external battery now is it... since its on the inside lol

But i don't see any physical problems (other than what looks like a poor contacts) but it could get a little heated I suppose

At the VERY least cover those traces with electrical tape.

That mother fucker stole my idea!!!
    And no, it's not safety.

It is safe, however. If he wired it right.
If he daisy chained the batteries, which is common sense in this application, then it is perfectly safe.

It should be safe I would cover the wires with electrical tape and rap it all around everything and I would turn off the power for your house then have the psp pluged in and then turn on the power so you will be far away from it if it explodes.

I learn a little bit electricity before. Just make sure you connect those batteries in parallel (by parallel, you're adding the mAh). It'll be safe. If you connect them in series, the voltages will be accumulated and it will fry your mobo.

I think he was just later than you by having the similar idea with you.

He connected the wires in the right way surely or it will not work just like the pic shows. But what I am worrying about is that whether the batteries will explode when it runs in normal conditions. The infos about li-po tells that this type of battery will just bulk when it was unstable. Then, how to explain the videos? And how to know which battery is not a time bomb? These questions maybe unnecessary. Not anywhere else, afterall, it was holds in our hands you know...

Another question...He've mentioned that this modding was not recommanded if you have a li-ion battery. But my only battery is the li-ion type. Need I buy a li-po one?

Just did something similar by making a laptop battery...went from a 4400 mah battery, to a 13000mah battery!, it actually runs cooler than it did before because percentage wise the batteries are draining less. nice mod, wear asbestos gloves
