Remake the magic memory stick

Okay so three days ago I bought a preowned PSP Slim 2003. It had firmware 5.51 installed on it. One of the main reasons I bought the machine was to enable me to play homebrews/emulators etc so I bought myself a Pandora battery which arrived in the post this morning. I already have a 4gb memory stick that has various save games etc I've been playing over the past couple of days.
So I tried to follow the video tutorial on this site and I put the pandora battery in, the green light came on as described. However, when I slotted the memory stick into the machine nothing hapens, the battery light remains green but the screen remains completely blank, which goes against what was described in the video tutorial.
Bearing in mind I am a total and utter noob when it comes to this type of thing. Don't even really grasp what firmware etc is. I just want to be able to customise my PSP a bit more.
Does anyone know the problem? Someone please help!
did you even make the magic memory stick or just put it in there without the right files on it? You can't have save files or nothin on it when you make it.

I know this might sound ridiculous but what do you mean by 'make' the memory stick?

Or you can use the last link in my sig to make your MMS with 5.00m33-4.
There's a readme file in it, with very simple instructions.
Jubba, when I try and "Inject IPL Only" I get the error message "access to the path c:\program files\psp grader\injectipl.cmd is denied".
I thought this was going to be a simple procedure as well...
Yeah I'm in as admin but it won't let me do it.
try this guide to make mms, it uses a different program http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-sof...full-lite.html
