Hi. I don't know if this is the proper place to post this, but I really need some help. I just got a used psp from a friends brother. He said it worked fine before he gave it to me, but that it had been sitting in his closet for 2 years.
    Here is the problem.

I plugged it in to let it charge. The orange light came on, which I assumed meant it was charging. I checked on it 2 min later and the light was off. I turned on the psp (the orange light came on again) and went to check the battery level. It said charge level 0%, time left--, charge source external, status charging. So, I decided to leave it on to charge. The next day I unplugged it, turned it on and it shut off immediately. I assume this means my battery isn't charging properly.

Can anyone help me figure out how to fix the battery? or maybe it is something else entirely...

you friend may have tried hardmodding the battery which could have damaged it, or the battery could have just been used a lot, and it died, or you psp could have hardware damage in its charging unit

So you need to diagnose the problem - try pugging in the charger without the battery in, then turning on the PSP. Does it work?
Try Charging the battery for 10x1 minutes (the interval before it stops charging), and then turning it on (So it has chance to get a litttttle charge). Try using your battery on another PSP.

The PSP will not turn on without the battery in. It will not charge at all. I wish I knew someone with a PSP so I could test it in theirs, but I don't.
