Hi all!! I hope someone can help me with this problem
See this small black part on that connector which holds one of the two connections between the screen and the motherboard?:

Well, i lost it and now i cannot end the replacement of the screen because i cannot hold the connector to that kind of socket

Is there anywhere i can buy a new one?
Does anyone know any other solution? Fixin' it with with any kind of glue maybe?

I am a bit desperate with this issue... i hope someone can help me.... thanks!!!

Yes, fold up a small bit of paper or other non-conductive material. Wedge the ribbon in place and then tighten the screen down on top of the paper so it holds the ribbon there. Place it right over the connector.

Do not attempt to mess with the socket any further. You may fix it, but there's a VERY good chance of causing further damage.

Ah, your clip broke off too? (The smaller one)

I have a fix for that. You'll have to wait though, cause you'll need pictures, and I don't have my Phat right now.

Basically what you have to do is take an X-Acto knife and cut around the white plastic opening, so the cable will fit in much easier. But please do not do this until I get some pictures for you, I don't want you messing up your mobo. . .

Connect the ribbon cable, then put some electrical tape to seal the deal. Make sure there's pressure; push that tape down... *Makes a sexual moan*

    Worked for me.

I had some problems with another connection so, lets say, i had to open and close it a couple of times.... in one of this time, i removed it, and came out of the socket almost going through my skull, and flyed miles away....

This kind of situation when something falls to the floor and seems to be taken by some under the bed troll and just dissapears.....

    kind of... xD

I will try with the tape thing....... but i already tryed and is really hard since you must make the ribbon completely straight so all the connections make contact.....

That pictures you talked about would be halpful in case i have to use your method though........

Thanks for all the ideas... i see im not the only one that has this bad luck....

Surprisingly, i just put the ribbon of the socket and the screen on its case and the connection was fine... the backlight was working....
Then i proceeded to put the outside case, the faceplate, etc... and when i was attaching one of the ast screws.... i came across a small black plastic piece......
    F**K
I just unscrewed al again, took the screen out once more, and put the small plastic part back.
I realized this piece of plastic ifts the connectors on the socket so you can put the ribbon in 2 mm more or less and then it loks it so it wont come out..... damn piece of plastic.

I put everything back on its place and.... tadaaaa!!!! i have it completely functional again.

    Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!!
