Have you recently opened the psp up? Could it be that the charge port isn't properly connected to the mobo, like it being loose or something.

Yes its the fuse... I just found some info on that about an hour ago and I've started testing, the fuse is fucked up.

but not I have a new issue:

I've soldered the fuse and now it turns on via the power cord or battery like it should.

But!, when I connect both of them (battery + ac cord) a red light turns on, I'm guessing an Voltage overload (5V battery + 5V ac charger).

    Am I missing anything?

Done a little more check and found out the power board was fucked up, so I assembled a new one.

And surprise the red light is GONE!, but ya new problem lol...

At first with no screen connected or menu buttons, everything seems perfect, green light, orange light when charging (battery + ac connected), I thought that's it I'm done... I've connected the screen and again even the battery info menu shows everything like it should.

I've mounted the front faceplate on the psp, tried it again (I've done testing in each step) and now the orange light is GONE, again , like nothing have changed from the beginning...

This is very strange cause everything worked, and the faceplate is just plastic with the analog stick connector, so its basically harmless...

I'm really lost now, dunno what to try... tried to reassemble the unit 3 times now, same thing happens EVERY TIME, when I put the faceplate on the orange light is GONE.

What the hell is wrong now? any ideas plz?

Hmm Well, I don't know.. nothing is disconnected, the soldering went very very clean.

weird thing was that the psp worked responded excellent twice, till I mounted the faceplate, which is extremely weird, again the faceplate is just plastic..

MadManxD u know sometimes its more fun to fix this unit, than to play it...

Faceplate may be applying pressure to the Lcd cage which is causing a short? o_O Maybe the lcd cage is coming in contact with your fresh solder.

No its not even sitting on the lcd metal plate, I first used a sticker to make sure the metal won't touch the solder.. but there is so much room I just took it off, the is no way they are touching..

Anyway I didn't even close the faceplate , I didn't insert the screws, as I said, I just mounted the faceplate on, and clicked it in so it will sit nicely on.

Again no chance the solder is touching anything else..

I'm surprised there is such a low info about those errors online... if anyone saw a good link I can check plz let me know.

Thx for all the helpers so far!

Are you missing some screws on the mobo???, some of those screws are used to ground the mobo I think
