Keep getting that error. I can hear the thing spinning inside and the lense is working fine, clean, and same with the disc. Not sure the ribbon cable is unplugged, but if the lense is moving, its plugged in right ?
Firmware Installed: 5.03m33-6 PSP PHAT
Edit is there for a reason...how long have you had the Phat and does it do it for every game you try?Have you dropped it?
i've had it for a while, just started doing it lately. dropped it once but it still worked after that and now o_o.
Tried a movie and a game disc so far.
Works fine on my other modded slim psp
Well how much would you say that you've played the PSP since your had it?
Alot, but not on the UMD. i copied my discs to my memory sticks
Hmm..well I'd say disassemble it and make sure all connections are indeed connected and if the problem still persists could be a hardware issue.
Minding linking me to noob-friendly guide to disassemble?

Press "Select" in HOME and go with Down arrow at "USB Device" and change to "UMD Disc".
