Hello everyone,
I hope that there isn't a same guide as this so I can continue on... Anyway, today I'm going to show you how to customize your PSP's XMB (waves, clicksounds, icons, battery bar etc...) WITHOUT flashing your PSP. Oh, and ChickHen users this is your lucky day!
REMEMBER THAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOUR PSP I'M NOT RENSPOSIBLE!! YOU DO THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK!!
So, here we go:
1. We are going to use a program named XMB RCO PATCHER (Download here: XMB RCO PATCHER.rar)
2. Here's how it works:
This is the first BETA for XMB RCO Patcher BETA 1.
This program will let you change your background waves, icons, battery bar/busy signals, volume bar, clicksounds, and bootlogos SAFELY without risk of brick because all files are read from the memory stick.
This program can be used via HEN or normal CFW. These files were tested with
5.00 M33 but will work with all newer firmwares.
INSTALLATION STEPS:
1.) Copy the RCOS folder to the ROOT of your memory stick,
then copy the XMB_RCO_PATCHER folder to your PSP/GAMES folder.
2.) Then copy the RCO_PATCHER.PRX file to your seplugins folder
and add the line ms0:/seplugins/rco_patcher.prx
to your vsh.txt.
ADDING NEW FILES:
If you want to add your own files to the program just create a new folder in the corresponding folder (E.g -> If there's a wave called Grey go into the RCOS/waves folder and create a new folder called Grey) and then place the file into the folder with a preview.png file. (If you don't have a preview.png file, that's OK. There is a default picture that shows a preview of the waves etc but it won't show the preview for the specific file, your file).
TROUBLESHOOTING
Q: When I set the icons, they don't display on the screen...
A: Make sure that you're on firmware higher than 5.00 M33 in order to set your PSP's theme to ''Classic''.
Q: I can't boot my PSP!
A: Well that's IMPOSSIBLE to happen... All files are read SAFETY from the Memory Stick.
If you're lazy to readjust tell me and I'll provide you with a video!
I hope you enjoy!
