Alright, so you want to play your PSP through your car stereo? I know with 2 12's and an amp of gargantuan strength, I like listening to my metal from my PSP without the need for CDs(as they fly out of my holder, get scratched, or get AT fluid all over them).

There are 4 methods I know of so far to do this. The simplest(if you have the stereo with an audio input) is a little cable that has basically headphone plugins on each end. Plug it in, and set your stereo to AUX(if needed). If not, get the RCA to audio and plug it into your available RCA jacks and plug into your PSP.

The second is the old CD to tape method. Get one at Wal-Mart for no more than 11 dollars, plug it into your PSP, then push the tape into your tape player. This works anywhere, really, as long as you have a tape deck.

The most expensive, coming in at an alarming 20 dollars, is the FM transmitter method. I bought the Nyko FM transmitter at EBGames for 20 dollars. I'm not so sure as to the quality of the others, but my Nyko serves its purpose. Plug it into a cigarette lighter port/power port, plug it's audio jack into your PSP, and set your radio to the frequency output of the transmitter. Your PSP is now a radio station. The iPod transmitter would work as well, but I don't know if it can charge your PSP at the same time as the Nyko. Beware though, that the transmitter is prone to signal loss due to interference, and produces some noise(as your transmitter follows you, so does your antennae, and I think the range is too close), but if your audio system is well set, you shouldn't hear it.

All of these methods are relatively cheap, and another great thing about it, is if you have the little circular remote provided with your PSP, plug it in, then plug one of the aux. hookups into it, so you can change songs without hassling with the PSP.

I have used all but the RCA to audio method, currently using the transmitter method, as my aftermarket CD deck doesn't have a tape deck, and no audio jack. I have spare RCA jacks on my CD deck, so anyone want to buy an FM transmitter or audio/audio cable?

yeah, but blank cds are so cheap these days, its easy to make a bunch and keep them in your car. and since alot of modern cars come with cd changers, you set. then again, older ipods are cheap enough to have in the car like i do. a 20gb with a wiring harness rigged up to my stereo. its awesome. its bolted up inside my glove box so i can add music at any time. u do make good points on playing music through the car stereo though. unfortunally, alot of factory systems lack AUX ports in the back, and offen require removing the receiver to reach them. the FM method works, but the quality is less then steller, so it comes down to the tape method. alot of people dont even use the tape decks in cars anymore, so those are slowly becoming obsolete. but, if you plan on installing a aftermarket radio, plug one of those harnesses in so a standard audio plug can hook up and run it into the interior somewhere... weither it be to the glovebox or to the center console. plan ahead people

So you're saying they make RCA to audio jack wiring? I've never seen that, though I did think of maybe somehow jury-rigging it to work. I dislike the FM transmitter method, only because of the background noise. I do love how the Nyko charges the PSP at the same time, though, so I can probably sell my Gamestop car charger for 5 bucks.

That brings me to a product review. Gamestop car charger - the best money can buy, and the money isn't alot. 10 dollars if I remember correctly, and it has a unique feature. The cable that plugs into your PSP can come off the adapter for the power port, and becomes a USB cable, so you can charge your PSP from any USB port. Will not work for USB data transfer, but if you want to PS2 it up for a while, or use the computer with your PSP, you can charge at the same time.

Got a picture of it? I'm not seeing anything like that anywhere. And does it have a specific name?

    Here We Go

9 bucks. Now, aftermarket CD decks can directly link to your PSP or PSP remote. Enjoy. My musical eardrum onslaught will now no longer be broadcast on 88.9 FM.
