i agree with the theory, but everyone knows why you dropped it in the toilet...

Well I have two psp 1000's and both have 5.50 gen D3 CFW, One of the Psps fell in the toilet around 3 years back. I wanted to try it a few days ago and it worked. Started up great, played monster hunter for over a week and now its giving me problems.
It's starting to black screen and green light on me. At first I thought it was a brick, which is weird because I haven't tried to flash anything on it. So I made a pandora and a MMS. I turn on my PSP and put it into service mode. a few seconds later Black screen and green light. I then proceeded to use the pandora and MMS on my other working psp and it booted just fine into service mode and I was able to flash 5.00 M33 CFW.
I'm starting to think its the mobo that is fried. Untill I get a screwdriver to open it I won't know. Its been also doing this a lot lately and I can sometimes get it to work for hours before it did it again and sometimes it would do it instantly over and over. The only way to get it to reboot is by removing the battery completely because the psp won't shut off with the power switch.
Now since it has been dropped in water,a fried motherboard is the only thing I can think of. Is it difficult to replace a motherboard? Is soldering involved? Will it be cheaper to buy another psp instead of replacing the Mobo?
Motherboard version:TA-079 (V1)
CFW:5.50 gen d3

No, replacing a mobo requires no soldering. I don't know if it's fried, because you say it worked a week after. And even so, the green Power LED lights via the Powerboard, which is connected to the mobo by a ribbon cable...Is the "black screen" solid black? Or is it a light-gray, signifying that the backlight of the LCD screen works? It could be the LCD screen...Do you hear the boot-up jingle when you turn the PSP on?
Probably cheaper to just go on ebay and get some tard to sell you a "Broken" PSP.
No boot up jingle. Sometimes my PSP will boot-up normally and I can access the XMB or even play my UMD,but then randomly out of nowhere, I get a black screen and a green power led.It used to happen rarely before but now its getting frequent, so frequent I can barely get past a loading screen of any game. It has happened several times while I was playing a video game. The screen is solid black when it does freeze up. I've tried changing batteries with my working PSP and even tried using the AC charger alone. It still happened no matter what I did to try to prevent it. I also thought it could be my settings so I turned off auto sleep and backlight off, I turned my brightness to the highest setting and no go.
Buy a new mobo, and remember don't play psp on toilet![]()

I'm going to cross my fingers and just trade the thing to Gamestop, Its been working fine for a while now I'm just hoping it stays working when I hand it in. I'll be picking up a silver PSP slim 2000, are these fully hackable?
