    How To:
    Psp L/R Trigger Light Mod

    NOTE:
This is an easy, quick, and priceless noob tut on making a psp’s trigger buttons light up.
This mod works on all psp’s. This requires you to open up your psp system so take your time. Enjoy!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Mod Level:
    Easy
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Items Required:
    1- Philips Screwdriver
    1- Psp System
    1- Light Sandpaper/Green Sprung pad.
1- Wire cutters/Razor/ Sharp cutting tool
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Steps:

1- Open your psp system using the Philips screwdriver

2- Remove the faceplate and then the home menu bar.
Quick Note- You could choose to or not to remove your screen at this next step.

3- You must remove the back reflector plate from the psp screen. The metal plate on the back is the reflector. It reflects the light given from the backlight to light the psp.

4- Cut semi-small squares onto each corner. To ensure it doesn’t bend, take your time. If you choose, also cut it even on both the sides on the plate to even the fit and brighter shine. The resone for not removing the whole back plate is because the psp screen will be dimmer and you could view the motherboard during game play. It gets annoying so don’t bother attempting.

5- Put your psp screen back together. Plug it back in if you unplugged it.

6- Plug your charger in to make sure it shines how you want it.

7- Once it’s how you want it then place it aside and pickup you L/R Trigger buttons.

8- Use the Light Sandpaper/Green Sprung Pad and remove the white covering on the inerpart of the L/R triggers. The slower you go, the more it seems authentic.

9- Put the buttons in the psp and test the light transparency. If you like the way it looks then continues.

10- Finally put your psp back together and turn it on to test it fully.
Quick Note- It won’t be completely as bright as a led mod but it does a hell of a job for an easy noob free mod. It’s completely visible in the dark and light shines on the L/R trigger pressing buttons.

11- Enjoy and brag to friends.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ENDING NOTES:

ANY more questions please feel free to comment or write to me and I'll reply once I can.
I will only post this tut on http://www.pspmod.com so if it’s anywhere else then they stole my tut. Hope you enjoy!

Haha. Its simple for basicly anyone to do so I made a tut for others to learn how.
Also if clear plastic reflactor paper is put there it changes the shine color to the papers color.

Have you been able to pull multi-colored LED mods? I mean like 1 set of L/R lights and you hit a switch to change the color.

I dont have the tools to make a tut currently but L/R led color switcher switcher yes.
The leds would be back to back inside the triggers and instead of a wifi switch off its always on and it changes between the two led colors. I thought this mod was already created. If it wasnt please let me know so I can make a tut for this for others. thanks

Good guide man. It reminds me of when I did this...Lol, I spent a lot of money buying spare PSPs and LEDs, wire, etc, etc. I'm just rockin' a completely virgin Japanese PSP Silver right now. White LEDs would look nice in my triggers...But I gave that hobby up.

First of all, great tutorial BrokenRoses, probly gonna try it out on my old PSP later.

But I do have one question:
By cutting little holes in the silver backplate, so the light can shine through, don't you affect the overal brightness of the screen? (I assume a small amount of light escapes to your buttons and less light is reflected into the screen itself)

I'm a bit of a perfectionist if it comes to stuff like this, so i'm asking this just to be sure I won't regret modding my psp!

Again, thanks for the tutorial already!

Thats what I originaly thought but it actually doesnt.
The screen is still the same brightness because the light escaping is very little.
    Thus no screen brightness change.
    Understand?
