Problem with psp battery

I decided to get a new PSP battery for my PSP 1000. Unfortunately, the original battery is already out of production and I was forced to get a pirated/generic battery. The weird thing is that the battery only took 65 minutes to charge and it only gave me back around 3 hours and 15 minutes of gametime. My wifi wasn't on, the screen backlight was set to minimum brightness and the games I was playing were far from graphic intensive. The battery also has a habit of refusing to accept power after about 5 minutes of charging and the LED charging light would go off. (So far this habit only seem to happen after the battery is fully charged). Is it normal for a PSP Battery to have such a short charge time and usage time? The battery is a 1800mha and it is new.

it is true that if I use the psp loudspeaker, will it dramatically reduce the psp battery usage time?

You could have gotten a slim battery from your local electronics store dude and what you just described isn't normal for a battery.

I don't think raising the volume would reduce your psps charge time that much. I'd say it would only drain about 1%.

it's normal for the fake batteries to die out just like that...but grab some plugins to help like psppowersaver.prx, keeps an extra 15% of life on it
