I have a psp 3001 with ChickenHEN 5.03 and a 2 gig and 8 gig pro duo cards. I was playing Daedalus X64 on my 8 gig one day when star wars rogue squadron crashed. Everything on the card said it was corrupted so I reformatted the card. ChickenHEN would no longer work on that card, it would just reset the PSP, so I copied all my files to the 2 gig and wala! A working ChickenHEN and all my other files. Rogue Squadron crashed again a few hours later and low and behold the card was rendered useless. I can write all my files to it but now neither of them will load ChickenHEN. What gives here? Is this just a thing that happens with fake cards or would this happen with real ones too? I don't wanna buy a real one unless I know I won't have this problem.

This happens to real cards also but a very low chance while fake cards have a very high chance or this.
I reccommend buying a new card either sony or sandisk.
You can also get the photofast 5400.
Whatever you like best but dont use a fake card on any psp they cause alot of problems eventually.

Seems to me Rogue Squadron is your problem. Has this happened to you while playing other games or homebrew also?

Perhaps Rogue Squadron is the problem. I don't know whether or not they are magic gate as I have a PSP 3000 with no pandora or MMS, I was just using ChickenHEN since its so easy to use and it starts up so fast. Luckily I didn't buy either of these cards, one came with the 3000 and one came with the 1000 I was given. I'm gonna buy a pro duo to mini sd adapter and use my 8 gig mini sd card lol. Since its only $1.50 I don't have much to use and they do work with the psp. If(after) I brick those I'll buy an actual card and see how that goes lol.

P.S. is there any way I can check for MagicGate without a pandora or MMS?

Both cards say that magicgate is supported. I don't understand why I can still read and write files to it but chickenhen won't work..

Try doing a quick format with the program below.

Download HPUSBDisk.exe from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

can you use an alternative HEN other than chickHEN on the brites? was it mhuspeed? but i would anticipate you would run into the same issue.

maybe just get a small capacity 'genuine' memstick, 1 or 2 gb, even 516 mb. then you can rule out your original memsticks to be central to your issue.

otherwise, after you sort this out, play another game.

@REY7 I tried to use the program you mentioned and unfortunately once it starts formatting it crashes, and never formats the memory stick.
I formatted it regularly using Windows Vista, and unclicked the "quick format" option. I started transferring videos, photos, and the chickenhen software. Everything transferred way faster than it had before, by about 5 1/2mbps! All the vidoes play well, as does the music. The pictures all display correctly but chickenhen still refuses to work. I also wanna take the time to mention a kick ass program I found that converts vidoes to MP4 format, and you can change the width/height to whatever you'd like! Its really quick and works like a dream You can just right click the file you wanna convert and its in the little menu!
    Oxelon Media Converter - Free

Also I wanna clarify what happened. I was playing Star Fox 64 and I decided to quit. I quit and went to the main menu and it wouldn't let me exit Daedalus from there so I turned the PSP off and BAM! Useless.
The other time I tried to play RS and the PSP reset itself and it messed it up that time, too.

Well this is how I "solved" this issue. I bought a dual micro SD to MSPD adapter and put ChickenHEN on a micro SD. I start my PSP and start up ChickenHEN which now works perfectly, I then take out that adapter and insert my original 8gig stick that has all my games on it, that way if I mess it up again I'll still be able to use my CFW.
