Alright wells to make things simple, my problem is that the right arrow on my d-pad is hitting the edge of the metal holder for the screen.

I had to fix my psp recently and it required me to take off the LCD screen and it's holder. I had to replace my power circuit board because the power spring snapped. I'm not sure if this was a problem before because the faceplate is not the original faceplate but it is an OEM faceplate because I swapped it from my second psp. I've tried doing that d-pad mod thing were you add a little strip to make it hit the rubber better. It essentially worked but if I held the the right arrow it would go up and down ranomly.

I'm all out of ideas and I've searched high and low but to now avail. Some help would be nice and much appreciated. Sorry if my post count is also a little low but I've been trying to go to pretty much any forum I can find an asking for help.

First of all, what PSP model do you have? Irregardless, you'll have to re-open your PSP. I'd start by making sure everything is installed perfectly. When I did LED mods and such, 90% of my issues were stupid little mistakes. If everything is absolutely correct, remove your D-Pad mod that you were talking about, and then reassemble everything.

I'm using the Original PHAT psp 1000, I bought it a week after launch.

I'm also fairly certain I installed it correctly. I've taken apart the psp multiple times now to see if maybe I installed it wrong. Everything seems to be installed correctly because the screws and everything lined up correctly.

I noticed that I can see the metal frame through my face plate in a small gap in between the faceplate and the arrow keys. I'm pretty sure that shouldn't be there.

I'm assuming it's something to do with the faceplate because all the screws and such matched up perfectly. I didn't touch ANYTHING on the left side of my psp when I had to replace the SW-445 power curcuit board. I'll try to redo everything I did agian to see if I might have missed a step.

If worse comes to worse, I'll take it to a professional but only as a last resort. I'm just wondering if anybody else had this kind of problem and could direct me to a solution.

Yea, its a 1001. I would like to get peoples opinions, but the only problem is the money. I'm paying for this out of pocket cash and I'm currently an unemployed college student. So far I only paid around $5 for parts like the SW-445 was only $2.50 and I bought new contact rubber and such.

But if we could figure something out, I'd be happy to ship it to you.
