08-24-2011, 09:28 PM I am trying to format 2 16 gb micro sdhc cards in the PhotoFast Pro Duo. I inserted the 2 cards into the slots int he adapter and then inserted them into the psp. I then went to system settings and then to format memory stick. I click on yes to format the memory stick and the psp is saying that no memory card is inserted. I have 2 psp 2000's and both of them are doing the exact same thing. I used a 2 gb sony memory stick to install 6.39ME 9.2 on both of the consoles and I have also tried inserting only one micro sdhc card into slot 1 to format it and the consoles still say there is not memory card inserted. Why the hell do such simple things always seem to be more complicated. LOL Sure would appreciate some knowledgeable input to help me resolve this issue and thanks for your help.

08-24-2011, 09:42 PM Well I assume it is genuine. I purchased it from ebay and that is what the ad said. It says that the item is guranteed to be fully compatible with the psp. Here is a link to the card that I purchased: eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices How would you know if it is genuine or not? Like I said it said it is guaranteed to work. Let me know what you think when you see the card. I also know the sdhc cards work because I formatted them in my computer thinking that might have been the problem. Thanks for your prompt response.
UPDATE: I just took a look inside the adapter and it looks to me like a couple of the pins in the number 1 slot are not up high enough to make contact with the sdhc card. If I did everything correctly then this is the only thing that I could possibly think that could be wrong. I have also tried other sdhc cards as well with no luck. It is no doubt related to the adapter for sure.

08-24-2011, 09:51 PM im not much of an expert on genuine mem sticks and adapters, but i hear that ALOT of fakes are sold on ebay. which is why i dont deal with ebay. it could just be some minor issue though.
do you have a card reader? i would say try using the card reader to format the cards with your computer, then put it into your psp and try formating it with the psp afterwards.
08-24-2011, 09:59 PM Already did that process and did not work. I can tell you that the orange lite constantly blinks with the adapter inserted. I am guessing that the lite is to let you know something is wrong with the memory. When I insert the sony 2gb stick the light does not blink and one more thing, if I have the adapter inserted when I boot the console it does not boot to the dashboard. I think there is a good possibility that it is the adapter as you said. Well I can get the seller to send me another one and hope it works.
08-24-2011, 10:08 PM some of my memory cards "glitch" like that from time to time where i will insert them and the orange light will flash constantly. when that happens i remove it, wait a second and try again. try that a few times and see if anything changes.
08-24-2011, 10:18 PM Just want to say thanks diaolic for trying to help me out with this piece of shiiiittt I bought. I really think it is the adapter that is causing the issue like you said. I just ordered another adapter from dealextreme. That adapter will come in a plastic case and I honestly think the pins were bent in the during the shipping process of this item. The light just will not stop blinking and I removed the cards 6 or 7 times so I am done chasing this damn rainbow. LMAO Thanks
08-24-2011, 10:22 PM not a problem, i just did some reading online on other sites and theres alot of people that were having the same exact problem. aparently it isnt uncommon for a bad batch of these to get shipped out. chances are you got a dud. from what ive read, if the psp wont format it you can still format it on your computer. but if it wont format on your computer either then my guess would be its a dud.
08-25-2011, 12:16 AM Even with the micro sdhc cards formatted it will do me no good because the damn pro duo adapter will not allow the psp to read the cards. It is a piece of crap. I know the sdhc cards are ok because I have already formatted both of them to fat32 on my pc. I am going to let the seller on ebay know about the issue and maybe he will send me a replacement adapter. Thanks again for your help.
09-16-2011, 05:50 AM Although this is a pretty late reply. I had the same issue when I received my Photofast. It basically wouldn't read nor format my micro sd card (I only had x1 16gb in Slot 1). While I was the xmb, I just kept clicking format memory card, and it kept saying there wasn't a memory card inside. I just persistently clicking, then it looked like it was formatting but in the end it said there's no memory card. I went out of the the settings, scrolled through Music, Pictures, Games, etc and saw that my memory stick was formatted 14GB free. So if you think it's not formatting, check, it just might have
