I'd need your PSP in front of me to tell you why your charging port doesn't work.
If you have soldering skills then doing this will allow you to charge via USB whether the PSP turns on or not - http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-har...harge-mod.html

Hi,I'm new here but I noticed that this site may help me with my problem. I have a Psp slim but I think I shorted out the charging port somehow. Now I cant charge it through the port (I know that the port is the problem because I use the power adaptor for my psp phat). Well I was fine using the USB port as long as I keep the battery in check so I can go on USB mode and charge through that, but I forgot one day and now my psp is completely dead and I have no way of charging the battery. Is there another way of charging it? I tried using my phat to charge it but I don't think it works.
Also, if anyone could help me figure out what is wrong with my charging port so I can just fix it.![]()

Okay so I got a whole new battery and it works fine and i even got that external battery charger. But i still feel like its inconvenient to take out the battery just to charge it. More info that i should give is that i thought i short circuited the charging port so i bought a new one to see if it'll work but it didn't. now i think that there has to be something wrong with the fuse somewhere on the motherboard. I just dont know where this fuse is located. So if anybody knows where and how i can fix this problem, that'll be very helpful.
