What would be better when formatting a memory stick? Which one will give more room.

Here's what wikipedia has to say...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat32

If your memorystick is 4gigs or less, FAT16 is probably best.

copy all the folders in the root, paste to your hard drive, wipe the stick and reformat, then paste the folders back to the root

You would probably not see much difference. A couple bits per file. You may get an extra few hundred kbits out of that gig stick (less then a meg, and an mp3 is usually a couple meg... so reformatting may get you 20-40 seconds of an mp3 ).

Hehehehe...I thought it was ScanDisk for the longest time too...take another look! It is actually "SanDisk".

On a 4gb stick...I might get a couple megs back...

isnt a bad idea to reformat it once in awhile anyway. espicallly if you move applications on and off the stick alot

well, i find it takes a long time to load stuff now. Would that be it telling me to reformat it? Instead of it taking 2-3 seconds to open up music tab, it now takes 10-15 seconds. But the card light isnt even blinking at all. I don't get it!

That I didn't know.....does it help free up space. Damn, I move folders off and on there like weekly. I haven't formatted the thing since I got it.
