Hi all this is my first post on here,
OK il explain what my problem was than il tell you how I fixed it. iv just bought a faulty psp 1000 because I like to see how things work, the psp powerd up fine with the ac connected and a battery in aswell but after a couple of mins the psp would shut down after trying this a couple of times I went onto the battery info screen and all that was there was power=external nothing in the other parts, then I tryed the psp without the ac and just the battery and it would not power up, so this got me thinking and I looked on the forum sites to see if I could find a fix. the first I tried was a new battery but when I put it in it did the same as the old 1, next I tried turning the sony battery into Pandora and made a magic stick but again no joy. so then it was time to check insde the psp and look at the main fuses the forums tell you to look at but all was well, but by the time I had done this I had got another psp same model but this was a easy fix as it just needed the pan and mem stick fix, but this told me the battery I had got was working, so after a lot more searching and coming up with a blank I decided to look at some photo's of a psp motherboard and compare it with mine and there it was.
ok before you try this it is best to try the other fixes first.
this is to cure the psp not seeing the connected battery and charging the battery
my psp motherboard is the ta-086
ok take the psp apart and remove the motherboard and turn it over so you can see the 3 pins that the battery connects to, just above that you should see what looks like 2 fuses on my motherboard these where missing not sure why they where but they where, I dare say you can test them with a meter to see if the connection is broke, but all I did was bridge the 1 closest to the main board, a little tip if you don't have a fine tip solder iron try this get a unused wire and put a drop of solder onit (this is called silvering the wire) then put the tip of that wire on the joint to be bridged and just touch the wire with the solder iron and the wire should bridge the joint then just trim the wire to the joint.
I hope this has made sence as im not the best at explaining things lol, when I get time il put a pic up and show what I did, and I hope this helps any1 with the problem I had.
