My ps2 fan is conking out. Loudest thing i've ever heard. But atleast it works, and it hasn't started a fire just yet remove those few rubber caps on the bottom of the PS2 and then unscrew the screws. Lift off the top of the PS2 slowly and look for that fan. If it really is disconnected you can solder the wire(s) back together. Stay off of your PS2 until then, cause you can bet ur ass it'll start a nice little fire.
Hope you had a nice XMas! Help me modding my original Xbox. See my thread in Anything Goes Here forum

na, i think he means the the plastic bit came unsoldered or however it was fixed from the board, it used to be where the arrow is pointing

true, but the contacts that are inside the plastic are what are soldered. usually, there should be 3 pins that poke through the bottom of the mobo, if those are still intact, and you can't plug onto them, and you're really feeling mischevious, you could always cut off the connector and solder the wires directly to the board. Should be quite an easy hack, even for a n00b solderer, lol.

I had the same thing with my ps2.
The whole plastic thing broke off.
So I just stripped the wires, and soldered the fan to the board.
    And that works fine.
