Is GTA needed to downgrade 2.6

ok I finally managed to get a psp lower then my 2.8 and I wanted to know if u need GTA or is there a way around this???

She just means to make sure you do not have the T-082 motherboard. There is a link to a picture guide to checking your motherboard version in the ultimate downgrader thread And I do believe there is a tiff file downgrader for 2.6 (so no need for GTA, and there sould be an easy installer for it that Julie used. She says its idiot proof). Just be sure you do not have a TA-082 motherboard or downgrading is a sure brick waiting to happen.

here is two links for you

first upgrade to 2.71
then use one of these two downgraders here
2.71 generic downgrader
EASY 2.71 Downgrader (1.5 update is required)

or you can try the 2.5/2.6 EASY downgrader which requires GTA, and yes there is a tiff downgrader, but i dont have a link for it

i reccommend any of these links if you arent sure,
and ive upgraded and downgraded plenty of times

i prefer the 2.71 downgrader, it requires no GTA and its shuts itself off

when i downgraded my 2.60 to 1.50, it auto rebooted. i used the auto installer found here:

yea I tried that one but everytime I get it and open it a message pops up saying the file is corrupt or incomplete, it downloads all the way so I don't know whats wrong.
