Converting a PSX ISO to Eboot Conversion thread (new gui =)
DescriptionHere is my old psx conversion thread (Smoking Aces)
I decided to make a new psx iso to eboot conversion thread because my old thread was to confusing and had alot of problems. Plus i foun this new nice and simple gui hat requires you to not look for an official psx eboot.
here are some features
* PSX images and EBOOTs are FULLY customizable (eg save file fixes) - even the gameboot picture can be changed
* EBOOT patching is quite fast - no more PSP Brew
* Conversion with a progress bar!
* ALL files are included - no more searching for elusive KEYS.BIN or BASE.PBP files
* MANY other features - such as ISO extracting from EBOOTs, Preview feature, EBOOT add/delete/extracting etc etc
Too play these PSX Eboots require 3.02 OE-B, which you can find here
Intructions
Download - Simple Popstation GUI v1.23 Beta
Step 1) downloading and exracting
*Download and extract the files to any place on your computer
*Download(sorry you are going to have to look for psx isos yourself) or rip the psx game(id reccommend using alcohol 120%) you want
Step 2) Choosing your iso and setting up popstation
here is a screenshot of the popstation GUI it should help you
*click on the Browse button (should be in the red box) and find your psx image file on your computer (ex .iso, .bin, .img, or .PBP) and select it
*alright now select your output folder (this is the folder you want your psx eboots to go to after it finished converting) by click on select button (should be in the green box)
*now choose your GAMEID by simply clicking on the Slect button (should be in the blue folder), then a window should pop up with a list of psx games, simply choose your psx game and press "ok"
Step 3) Customizing your eboot
*simply click on the button (in the orange box) of the part you want to customized
-EX - if you want to change icon, click on the folder button (in the orange box), then a window should pop up, then you just find where the icon you want and press open.
Step 4) Converting
*after you are finish customizing, you can click the preview button (the one in the baby blue box) to preview what you done
*and if you are happy with what you done you click the Go button (the button in the pink box)
*your psx iso should convert into an EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN, and transfer both those files into the output folder you selected
Step 5) Transferring the eboot onto your psp
*connect your psp, and open the psp files to the GAME folder
*create a new folder in the GAME directory of the psp and rename it to the PSX title you converted
*then go to your output folder and copy and paste the EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN files in the new folder you created
*Now you can go onto your psp and play the psx eboot

Call me lazy...but I prefer PSX2PSP over this because it automatically prefills the game id for you...no menus.

update for PSP compression please please?or someone quickly explain how to use the popstation in command line
I've tried GTA-1969 London, T R 3, Uefa Striker, GT2.
All appear on the Game menu, and both show the information warning.
Then they go to a black screen and it freezes.
They are in there own folder inside PSP/GAME.
Maybe its a bad Eboot file in the PSX gui....
just tried it myself and getting same problems... im going to try the old method and see how it works out
I do all that stuff you said above and when I finally get it on my psp it tells me the game could not be started. I am going to cry I think.

youre firmware is?

sorry my firmware is 3.03 oe-b.

Try PSX2PSP http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=40946 I have had 0 problems with it.
You can use this Popstation for games that use CDDA, you can overwrite the popstation in the files folder. http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=43050
To use PSX2PSP Do this.
Download 7.1 http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=40946 Extract it.
Download http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/994 open the Data folder Copy the BASE.PBP and KEYS.BIN into the File folder of PSX2PSP.
Download http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=43050 copy the popstation.exe into the files folder of PSX2PSP. Go to options set your compression to 9 (best compression) or 0 (none) and fill out what you need I suggest click "create game Title folder" then covert, really easy nice GUI. Put the game title folder into GAME on the psp. GAME/(Sometitle like Final Fantasy)/Eboot.PBP and Key.bin inside the title folder.
Here are icons http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=40802 and http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=40538
Also remember, some multi discs don't work cus you can't save right after the disc to start the new one like Parasite Eve. Final Fantasy's do as they allow this. Also when doing multi disc make sure the Game Save ID is the same (Disc 1 is 11111, Disc 2 is 11111) I suggest same save game title(some say its not needed, I keep it the same)
Ok I did everything that you said and it tells me game could not be started 80020148. So now what?

damnit, this worked fine for me, im need to make a new tutorial with compression, damn i suck at these PSX conversion threads,
im going o leave it to someone else
I'm assuming your Game folder homebrew is currently 3.03 kernel, found in recovery mode? What game is it by the way, a select few games do not work at all, but still you got an error message before it loaded up so I guess this doesn't really apply to this situation. 80020148 - PRX type unsupported / Missing PSAR file so it might be encoded incorrectly as well, did you use PSX2PSP? or the popstation Gui?Originally Posted by MattB
I have tons of disks, but I can't figure out how to use Alcohol 120%. Maybe a real quick tutorial from someone please?
I used both programs and got the same error. I tried it with gran turismo and army men 3d. I don't know. Do I have to have a UMD in the PSP to get these to work? I thought I read that somewhere.
