wep crack

im trying to crack my very own wep enabled lynksys router for kicks.

ive been thourghely defeated on my ppc and have figured a psp should be able to do it right?

well anyone kno of any such tools?

i believe im running m33 3.7xxxx

yes many. in fact tons. i was trying to do it on my phone and psp though. apparently no one has made a wep cracker for either. hmm lame oh well thx ppl

speaking of which what is the reason to put a WEP on ur router? other than no one else can use it. whats the other reasoning? btw i dont have WEP on mine. so maybe i should?

if someone can use your router then theoretically they can join your workgroup and access shared files.
I never used any WEP encryption on my router because i live in the middle of nowhere and im too lazy to type the key in my psp, wii, and ps3...

i dont have any shared files or folders but i too am to lazy thats why i dont use it. but i understand the reasoning now.

You can also leave the connection with no WEP key, but configure the MAC Adress table on the router to accept only your MAC.
That way you wont have the trouble of putting a WEP but you have to configute the MAC bit
I have one router with no WEP in my street, but i cant get a connection because of that, the router doesn´t give access...

Putting some security on your router might be something you want to do. I too, was too lazy and left it open. I noticed one day that my internet connection was extremely slow, pages were taking forever. Apparently, one of my neighbors was using my internet connection to download movies or whathave you making my internet slow. Might want to put some security on it, just incase.

There are infact several tools for PC systems, to brute force or clone wep keys etc... You likely have no experience with brute forcing in the first place, and are failing easily. There are ways to tune the psp for the same wep cracking methods. To you unforunitly I won't disclose this information.
I find it more fun to just pop a RFJ and watch everyone with wifi connection drop.

oh yes im sure its mine. i only recieve 5 signals on both my phone, computer, and psp. Starbucks, 3 From homedepot, and mine.

starbucks makes u pay a monthly fee. so even when i go there i just use mine. homedepot has 3, but that means they can triangualte off of you, and mine, well its mine. lol
