I have some questions.. about to hack my psp

I have a slim psp silver on version 4.05
I've officially given up on sony and the psp.

I have a few questions as I am a noob on the "homebrew" area.
Could someone please fill me in.(BTW. Please know what your talking about, as I do like knowing what Im about to do to my PSP.)

So, to start, I have a 3.6v 1200mAh battery (the one that came with the PSP slim).
I was wondering. Once I make a pandora battery, will I need another regular battery, after Im dont hacking it?
If I do need another battery, I was thinking of buying a psp phat battery, and making my pandora on that battery.

So pretend I've made my pandora battery, know I have version 1.50 on my psp.

What do I do now? Do i just download 4.01m33 ? And then install it?
(Thats where I get confused)



So can someone give me descriptive answers, and gooid help?

The way your wording things is kind of confusing me but ill help as i can. Your saying lets pretend you have the psp down to 1.5 right? well then you go to dark alex's page and download the newest custom firmware (im not sure what it is i havent upgraded mine in ages). Then you also need the actual Sony upgrade thing which you can just google. This will allow your psp to run the update and you should then be running your custom firmware

Ok, I understood what you were saying, up to the part where you said I need the official firmware.

So, say I have the psp at 1.50, then all I do is download the 4.01m33 download? once I download it which folder do I put it on in the MS?

Also, you said I need the official version.. why do I need that?

THANK YOU! That was really helpful! I learned ALOT!

But, I have 3 questions that Im sure you can answer.

Once Im done the hacking, can I erace the files off my memory stick? Or do I have to keep the "magic"files on there?

Also, when the user said draw the line back on the psp(inside the battery with a HB2 pencil, does that make my battewry normal again?

And also, where do I download ISO's and CSO's. (Whats the difference between the 2? )

1. erase the files by formatting the mms while your PSP is utilizing your USB connection, what you do 1st is take out the mms and start up your PSP, after your back at the PSPs main screen, pop in your mms and go to system> Format.

2. Yes although make sure you're VERY careful you don't want to ruin your battery.

3. CSO files are the only way you can play your PSP games, you cannot use ISO files. Plus it's against the rules to tell you about certain sites. So just PM me and I can help you there.

Ok, heres my problem, Im trying to open it, and I have all 3 sides opened, but now, I cant get the top open.

All of the top, from the bump, to the top, ITS IMPOSSILBE. Can someone give a tip or something? What should I use ?
How should I do it?
