Hmm, just went to install that mp3 plugin you mentioned, but have hit a problem. I don't know how to do this part of the installation:

I've never touched this plugin, and I don't know how to set the home button, but it looks like that is telling you how to load the plugin. Completely shut down your PSP by holding the power button up until it turns off. Boot your PSP, holding the right trigger before moving the power switch. It takes you into Recovery Mode (I think that's the term for it?), Go down to plugins, and enable the plugin. That is assuming the readme told you which folder to place the .prx in.

And for someones sake, stop bickering. All you people that are "know-it-alls" do is fight over the smallest things for no reason. You always have to be right. And you guys always have to have the last word, too. You're like 8 year olds. Grow up, please? This community was set up to spread knowledge and help people. Please support it, instead of driving the few decent human beings left out of here with the childish behavior.

Yeah i've tried using these plugins before on older firmwares and they never worked. I already tried looking at the plugin menu, but nothing is there, and i can't see anything else that would do it in the recovery menu, so i'll just leave it now. It's not a huge deal not having it.
