Hi guys, i've had a modded fat PSP for a long time now, but i just picked back up on the scene and upgraded to 5.00 M33-3. I think the last cfw i was on was 4.01 M33.

Anyway, i have completely formatted my mem stick so it's completely clean. I just want to ask a few questions about some homebrew apps:

    • What program do i need to be able to play music/mp3s away from the xmb/anywhere? I seem to recall a simple plugin?
    • What is regarded as the best all round media player homebrew? What formats can it now play at what specs?
    • On a similar note, what is the easiest/best program for converting videos to play on the PSP, if needed at all. I guess it depends on the answer to the previous question.
    • Is there still a custom themes program around? I seem to remember CXMB, is that still the most used? Also, are there 5.00 themes around?
    • Not really homebrew, but does the PS1 emu still only work properly with NTSC games, or will PAL rips work now? I'm in the UK so any games i have are PAL.
    • Final thing, what programs/apps/homebrew is popular/what would you reccomend? Hit me up with anything, games, apps, anything, i want to load this up!

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    - Slasher's MP3 plugin: http://www.psp-spot.com/forums/index...howtopic=27125
    - PSP only views mp4 and a couple of others, not mp3
    - PSP Video 9 to convert videos to psp format: http://www.pspvideo9.com/Download/
    - There are custom themes and the new CXMB 3.3 works with 5.00 m33 and this is a plugin which allows you to use custom themes. You can get 5.00 themes from: http://www.consolespot.net/psp-themes/
    - Not sure about this one
    - There are so many. Just look at: http://dl.qj.net/ . This has thousands of psp applications, homebrew, etc

Thanks alot for those answers, appreciate it, but i'm not sure what you mean on the second question/answer? You mean that after all this time the only video format it plays is still only specially converted MP4? Is there no homebrew media players that can play things like AVI, MPEG maybe?

And yeah, i know there are thousands of homebrew apps out there, that's why i was asking for some recommendations of good ones to have.

    Thanks

Killer, I asked the same thing, even searched Google, which I hate doing.

Pretty much, the PSP only plays MP4 videos. PSP Video 9, and there's a DVDConvertersoft product that converts em fast and decent.

As for homebrew apps? If you find any, tell me 'bout em. One good homebrew game is a port of Cave Story for the PSP.

Oh, also CWCheat is -the- PSP cheat resource.
FF7 IS NOT THAT GREAT. PLAY FF9. OR STAR OCEAN.
    KTHX.

Fuck Google. :| Fuck it with a stick.

You are exactly right. mp4 is the only format so you have to use psp video 9 to convert your videos to that format

Surprising, but thanks for the info, appreciate it.

Hmm, just went to install that mp3 plugin you mentioned, but have hit a problem. I don't know how to do this part of the installation:

Then, just simply point the P.O.C. Custom Firmware to load the RUNMEmp3.prx.

    ex) loadmodule0 = "ms0:/mp3XMB/RUNMEmp3.prx".

To activate the module, press HOME. (or whatever key you set it to)

Sorry but I can't help you with that, I have never used it. Ask Bewood, he would most likely know

    Omfg..

I've read this thread 4 times now..

    And ignored his edit..

I thought you would get it.

Plus since you apparently gave him the mp3 plugin and what-not, you should know what's up.

I refuse to help since you started and won't finish

You lead a horse to water that doesn't know how to drink.

    It is your fault.

-You expect anything from somebody new to this.

    -That is why you fail.

I am very lazy too, but not with pspmod.
