    Hello,

I have an old white PSP. Its not a slim model. It has version 2.71 installed.

I have a 4 GB Memory Stick duo, I downloaded the Ultimate PSPTube 2.0 and then tried to start it and got an error:

The game could not be started 80020148

I am not trying to pirate my PSP. I just want to use YouTube on it. The readme (PSPTube) says:

    Q. I can't start the game because it says the data is corrupted.
    A. Ultimate PSPTube requires custom firmware to run. I can confirm that it works from version
3.90 M33 upwards. I haven't tested any lower firmware versions although they may still work.
How can I get my PSP 2.71 to 3.90 M33 - I am scared of doing a Network update because it will update to the official 6 version

    Thanks!

First use a downgrader to go to 1.50:

Then use hellcats recovery flasher to go to higher custom firmware.

    I did it all.

I got up to the last part. Update flasher. What I did, I homebrewed my PSP, and it worked! The green screen came up. Then I extracted the update flasher and it says place a UPDATE.PBP in the folder, I placed a 3.90 M33 EBOOT.PBP and it comes up with

3.09PBP does not exist download from the internet? and freezes on yes

I then tried renaming it to UPDATE.PBP and it says an error code and the game could not be started. Should I be placing in an old update?

    Instructions:
    ------------

    - Copy the contents inside MS_ROOT to the root of your memstick.

    - Get the EBOOT.PBP of the update you want to install, and copy it with the name of "UPDATE.PBP" to
    /PSP/GAME/UPDATE

    - Run the program.

    And done.

How do I do this? I am sorry, I know its noobish but I have literally no idea. I normally am very quick to learn and pick up tech stuff - I cant seem to get it right, I acheived a green screen with the tool and then I downloaded an older firmware and apparently it installed.. it first tried connecting to wireless as it could not find an eboot or update boot file.. still it said it installed.. so i thought i had firmware 3 (the one psptube was made and best for) but still no luck. I dont see why I cant pay someone a tenner on paypal and do it via gmail or webcam..
