Isn't there a way to stream homebrew from pc to psp? So that you don't have to have homebrew on your memstick?

USBHost or something, comes in IRShell.

It may not be the best advice, but it's a starting point.

Maybe some crazy insane homebrew which is too large for his memory stick.

it's not, not looking after my UMD's, I prefer to have backups because in some cases they run faster/are more efficient, plus, don't you know how much battery the psp's umd drive sucks up? and I don't like to carry around a bunch of UMD's with me, shut you trap and think about what you say first! there's plenty of reasons people would rather not use UMDs! I don't NEED to have backups, but I like them.

walmart sells 4gb mem sticks in the game section for 16 bucks. its not much compared to getting photofast with two 16 gb micro sds, but its a step in the right direction.

IR shell+usb host data works, but it takes a bit to get off the ground.

Shut your trap, you didnt even supply a reason in the first place so its your fault. So you can STFU! No need to be mean like that... Some people.
