    Hello,
Having my old PSX in my room playing the classics makes me want to buy a PSP just to have all my original games with the best custom firmware on.
Going back to this scene after about 3 years, i've scoured Google for any updates, and all I've found is the PSP-3000 only hackable with 5.03, unless i've completely missed an update. So i've come across this forum hoping for some help!

Now i'm really unsure how to go about this, is it best to get a PSP-2000, and no matter what firmware that comes out the box, can i still have neur0n's latest custom firmware on there?
    What about PSP-3000?
And if they are both no-go's, the PSP-1000 it'll have to be, but it would be nice to have an improved model to play my PSX games on.
    Any help, much appreciated!

Personally, I'd get a fully hackable PSP.

    All 1000's are fully hackable.
Some 2000's are fully hackable, check the link in my sig to know the difference.
None of the 3000's are fully hackable.

ALL PSP's can run a "lite" custom firmware, some can run a full custom firmware. The link in my sig about Slims and hacking explains much more.

Right, PSP-1000 it will be then :P
So if it's got say, the latest firmware of 6.60, would i need the pandora battery, or is there an easier way?

I just bought a 2nd hand PSP2001, turned out it was old enough to be fully hackable with 6.60, so I wouldn't rule them out if you see it for sale.

One thing i've learned that you should look for before buying one though, is the serial number under the battery pack.

If that number starts with HU2 it's not hackable I guess. The one I got started with HU0 so I was a bit unsure but it worked without any problems.

No Pandora needed, just update to 6.60 official and then run the 6.60ME-1.3 installer. Laughably easy.

I love how to begin with, you needed Pandora and MMS, then you only needed chickhen, now you dont need anything, its just an installer. What's so special about the 6.60 ME that it just runs?

Things can be signed to run on OFW now, even if the signed program is actually an installer for CFW.

Ah great, so once that's done, will I be able to use POPSLoader and switch between versions with ease like back in the Dark_Alex days?

Yup, exactly. Start up the PSX game with the R-Trigger and choose your POPS.

I made a popsloader pack back in the day, if anyone has a copy of it I'd be grateful if you could send me one

Also, what lets us sign stuff now?

To be perfectly honest with you I couldn't tell you. I've been out of the PSP scene since October of 2009 and I've only been back into it since about a week ago. Gotta catch up on all the stuff I missed between then and now.

Keep in mind though that some Slims are guaranteed fully hackable NO MATTER WHAT. These will ALWAYS be hackable via Pandora, meaning they can take a full custom firmware.

    Vader Slim (Ceramic White)
    FFVII Slim (Ice Silver)
    Daxter Slim (Ice Silver)
God of War Slim (Gloss Red)

I was looking in a few shops today, and came across one that had 1000, 2000 and 3000 models.
I looked at the 2000 and it was the Ice Silver model, so just from that i take it it's hackable.
Also, would I be able to hook the PSP to a TV if i wanted to play say, Tomb Raider 3 on the big screen using some cables?
