outdated psp, should i upgrade

hi, well this is my first tread, ive been looking for a psp forum forum for a while now and this one seems nice.
well the thing is that back in 2008 or 2009 my parents bought me a psp slim (2001) and after having it for some time i thought it would be a good idea to put CFW on it, so i did the homebrew thing and i currently have software version 5.00 m33-4 and i just started using my psp again and i dont know if i should upgrade and to witch version should i upgrade, so i would be really glad if someone helped me out with that,
