Bought a brand new PSP-E1002 for my sons for christmas. Went onto PSN to buy games for them, downloaded them to my computer just fine but it keeps giving 'communication error 80048a80'. Don't know much about PSP's so if someone could please give me a hand that would much appreciated. Thanks (:

Is your PSP giving you this error or your computer?

When you try to add your PSP??. So let me get this straight, you downloaded the games onto your computer via "Media Go" but when you try to transfer the games to your PSP via "Media Go" and a USB cable, you get the error. Is that correct?

Yes I have kept trying over and over. I read on another forum that it is caused by overload and they you just need to keep trying. But I doubt that is the case as it is already on my computer, so shouldn't have anything to do with overload??? Not sure.

I'm able to transfer photos via media go, but not the game I downloaded. I have also tried some of their demo's with no luck.

The PSP you describe does not have wireless I believe so you will need to correct this issue to transfer games. Is the PSP brand new or used?

I realise it has no wireless, but I have used my cable, so not sure why it won't work. They are both brand new, only opened yesterday!

I believe that the problem is the fact that you need to activate the PSP's to your PSN acct. I believe that you can access your account on your PC and activate the PSP's there.

EDIT: I just opened up "Media Go" on my PC and if you look at the upper right of the "Store" page, you will see a tab for account management. Click on it and look for "System activation"

I'm pretty sure I have done that, for both of the PSP's. Is there a way I can check whether they are activated?

Look at my edit above. One more thing, how many PSP's do you have activated to your PSN account?

I will have a look now at the system activation. Thanks. I have only the two PSP's activated. I see them both when I sign in to my PSN account, so assume that they are activated.
