i am very confuse, when i update my psp 2003 the firmware not updated, but when my psp has been used by my friends and turned off, i turned on again suddenly the firmware is updated,, my psp came with god of war,, what that is sign if my psp hackable ??? thanks

Hi,I`am new here and have question about psp 3000! Is there any way to be sure before purchase what psp 3000 can be hacked?! Can I know that by looking on serial number...?! I think all PSP 3000s can be hacked. I got a sliver 3006 and it is hackable. Try to find a reliable shop.

um...mine has the AB003 but not AB002 nor AB001. I dont get it. O_O???

i have a 2006pb psp with orginal firmware of 4.01.
it shows that its not hackable.but i went to one of the nearby shops, it says that it can be half mod.
so does anyone know how to half mod it?thanks.

Thanks for the awesome guide. I'm a bit unsure if my own shiny black PSP 2001 is hackable. Serial number under the battery begins with HU024... and on the bottom of the device I see a number starting with AB0024...

Got it from a friend, though, so no box or such.

Is it hackable or not
Pandora battery is the only way to hack it isn't it? (as I have no access to a CFW)

I just bought a secondhand slim PSP and would like to be able to run roms/homebrew on it [and if possible, PDF's and word/txt files (so I can read ebooks.)]

Beyond working out that my PSP -should- be hackable, I'm really not getting much from the first post. I've just never been good with this stuff [too bad the PSP isn't as simple as the DS (just get an R4DS and drag/drop files ^_^)]

Forgot to ask, do you need to downgrade/upgrade to do things? [I keep hearing mention of downgrading to 1.5 but wouldn't that cost you some important features? Such as 5.50 reducing the amount of free memory you need on your memory card to get games from the playstation shop, or how many folders deep images can be read from the card? Wouldn't it also stop you even using the playstation network or other things?]

Please could someone explain this as well thank.
