OK! Great! I've downloaded and installed the 6.60me 1.3 CFW by upgrading using the System Update on my PSP then downloading the 6.60me file and reading the install instructions on the readme file that came with it... woohoo!

So... now my question is: What can I do with this cool machine I've got???

Is there a Guide or Post that goes through a couple of possibilites using CFW on this site?

Specifically, how to install (or, if it already comes with one, use the pre-installed) iso loader? And how to run PS1 games?

THANKS A MILLION to you guys!

It already comes with an ISO loader. Also, a PS1 "emulator" is built into the firmware directly from Sony and it was always meant to be this way.

To play PS1 games you'll need to rip the disc to an ISO and use a program such as PSX2PSP and it will then convert that ISO into an EBOOT. Take this EBOOT.PBP and put it inside a folder. You can name this folder whatever you want/whatever will let you know what game is inside it. Then take this folder and put it into the PSP/GAME folder on your mem stick. From there you should be able to just play it. Some games need what is called POPSloader but most will run just fine. If you have issues with it and we can help you with that too.

Sounds good: so I can't play backed up UMD iso files without converting them into eboot files first?

You should be able to play your raw backups with an ISO loader.

I just set my USB medium to UMD, drag and drop the iso onto my computer's desktop, then set my USB medium to memory stick and drag and drop it into the ISO folder from the desktop, and it plays fine. Not sure if it works the same way on 6.60ME though, since I'm using TN-A 6.39 Xtended.

What Slowman is talking about is PlayStation 1 games, not PSP games.

WOW ARE YOU A TOTAL NOOB FANBOY WHY ARE YOU USING THE SHITTY ASS HEN DONT GET ME WRONG IT WAS HIM THAT FOUN THE EXPLIOT BUT STILL TO HAVE TO USE AND ISO LOADER IS BUNK THATS WHY PRO OR me ARE THE BETTER AS FOR PS1 GAMES YOU HAVE TO RIP THEM TO ISO THE USE PSX2PSP AND CONVERT THE ISO TO EBOOT NOW AS FOR UMD ISO RIPS JUST PLACE THEM IN THE ISO FOLDER ON THE ROOT OF YOUR MEMORY STICK

PS IF YOUR USEING PS1 EBOOT THEY GO IN THE PSP/GAME FOLDER ON THE ROOT OF YOUR MEMORY STICK

If ONLY I had an iso folder to drop iso files into... so here are a couple of questions, and please direct me to some other thread if appropriate: just FYI I'm running 6.60ME v1.3

    For PS1 games:
    1. I have an EBoot file in my PSP/GAME/(games name) folder, when I go to my games in the PSP menu it says "Corrupt Data." I'm sure the eboot file I have is not corrupt.
-Am I supposed to adjust the configuration in my new boot menu (the one I hold L to get to)?
-Am I supposed to hit select and change any of those options?

    2. Someone just said above that I need to drop my games into my root directory..... what is that? MP_Root?

    3. How do I install emulators like the gameboy one listed in the downloads section here?

Sorry for the barrage of questions.. I've really been looking for these answers for quite a while with no luck.. Maybe a CFW users guide would be in order?

    Thanks!

no i ment that the psp folder was on the root so you would have to open that then open the game folder and place the folder named after the game with eboot inside it there thats what i was sayin

you need tio covert your psx into eboot,
    use psx2psp converter.
just google it, then run it load in your psx and after converting copy the folder with serial no. to ms0:/psp/game

Alright! So the answer was to MAKE SURE YOU FORMAT YOUR MEM CARD after installing CFW

    Hopefully this works now

Hey admins... is there anyway to change the title of this thread to encompass all the problems it has been solving for me? Seems like it would be much more useful to others if it read something like:

We're currently planning/working on rewriting a lot of older guides and reorganizing everything. We don't need more "guides", we need very concise and organized guides.
