    hi there!

i currently have a psp phat (the oldest model out there) and it is running 5.50 gen-d3 (so far, without prometheus 4, im thinking on whether or not to path prometheus on my device)

to get on topic, i have JUST recently gotten back into taking care of my psp (last time i ever used it was back in the middle of 2010 and before that)

I see a WHOLE new updates out, like 6.60 pro, 6.39, etc. and i want to know if i should update to the latest cfw (i am pretty sure that 6.60 pro is the latest, correct?)

anyways, i want to know if all games are compatible with my CURRENT firmware (all the newest ones and even the older ones), and if i should update to the newest firmware or not

    thanks a lot!

    rocketsnail

PS: would i also be able to access the PSN on 6.60 ofw pro? i dont even know if i can with my current 5.50 gen-d3

    okay sounds good

    3 things

    1. if i update to the latest firmware (6.60), should i use the ME version or PRO version?

2.if i have 6.60 cfw (using pro) will i be able to access psn without anything like psnfucker?

    3. is the 6.60 cfw stable?

thanks for the replies you two

    edit

i looked online, and me seems to be the better pick because of the drivers?
should i get the me version ?

just follow these steps--posted by clutch so thks to him

First you need to update to 6.60 OFW and the install the CFW. To update you can either do it yourself or you can do network update on the psp.

Heres how you do it. If your already on 6.60 OFW skip these steps. Also skip if you are going to do system update from the XMB. Just go ahead and update either way to
    6.60 OFW.

    1. Download this :6.60 OFW - 6.Downloads - Sony PSP MODS and Hacks Forums and extract it and have it handy.
    2. Now plug the psp into the usb on your computer and open the PSP folder and then the GAME folder and create a folder named UPDATE and put the 660 eboot in there.
    3. Now exit out of the USB and go to the psp and go to GAME and run that update. That should put you on 6.60 OFW.

    Now to install the CFW.

When you go back to the game folder on the psp delete the UPDATE folder I told you to make.

    1. Download this:6.60ME-1.6 (OFW Version) - Downloads - Sony PSP MODS and Hacks Forums and extract that.
    2. Place the "me_installer" into your "GAME" folder on your memory stick .
    3. Then go run that on the psp like you did the update and you should be good to go.

Ha thanks for posting that. I have copy and pasted that multiple times when people have asked how to install CFW. Very useful to just have it ready instead of typing it everytime.
