Hi. I'm gonna buy a new PSP 3000 this week and want to run some emulators on it. I'm wondering if I will be able to with a completely new one. I've read about the launcher you have to run when using 6.37 to be able to run homebrew stuff. How long does it take to run each time? Is it possible to use both the analog stick and the d-pad in emulators? Thanks in advance.

Yes, its possible to use both the d-pad and the analog stick in emulators. Here are a few emulators.
emumaster&masterboy: EmuMaster&Masterboy.zip <----Plays GameBoy games and I forgot what other kind of games.
    Snes9xTYL: Snes9xTYL.zip <-----Plays super nintendo games
daedalus: DaedalusX64.zip <-----Plays N64 games. Not the latest version.

Yes you can run emulaters on the latest OFW for psp which is 6.60, If I were you and I bought a new 3000 I would install that latest OFW if its not already installed and then grab me a LCFW make sure its Lite or it will brick. When you get your 3000 get back to us on this thread and we can help you install it if you need us to.

It just depend on the emulater if you can use both buttons and analog but most probably have the option to switch back and forth between them.

Edit: Forgot to answer this, The launch only takes about 10 seconds or less to run each time you turn your psp off. You can also just turn it to sleep mode and it won't ever get erased from the ram.

I'm not very talented when it comes to hacking. Can you please help me find that LCFW? I used google but I'm not comfortable choosing the right version on my own. Thanks for the help.

That sounds great. I have one more question. I've read that it's possible to play all games on the SNES emulator except for a Kirby game I think. I haven't read anything about lag on the GBA games, how do they perform? And both SNES and GBA have different aspect ratio compared to the PSP, will the PSP upscale the games and make them blurry, or is there some kind of magic going on? Thanks again for your time.

I don't have any problems with my EMU's looking wierd unless I change the settings on them to fit the screen or something. The GBA EMU reduces the size down just a little so it looks right and the SNES might reduce it down a little too but they both look really good to me. I havn't had any problems out of GBA, it plays fine.

sure, if you upscale it will make the screen bigger but making it more pixelized (which is very annoying if you asked me). it won't have any problems either if you stay on default or make it big. and magic sure won't affect your gameplay, just trust me on this. not until if you try something.
