PSP Custom Firmware installation; need help!

Alright, so this is the basic problem I am having;

I am try to install the latest version of ChickHen R2 on my PSP. I followed the instructions step, by step. I downgraded my psp 1000 to verison 5.03 as described, and Installed everything correctly (as it seems) I went under my Photos into the memory stick, went to the .tifffile and everything was going swimmingly. On system the system information it even says 5.03 ChickHern R2. However the problem I am getting is the fact that the next step; which requires me to go to the Game icon and select 'HC Recovery Flasher' and PSP Ident 0.4. However, its not appearing, and when I restart the PSP it reverts back to version 5.03 again. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

i suggest update to latest firmware 6.60 ME-1.6 because i think the one installed on your psp now is a LITE version thats why when you shut it down or reboots it go back to OFW.

Heres a guide on how to update to 6.60. Go to my sig Pirate's Guide and go to section 4 (the red fonts)

Thank you so much for the advice kjata123! I will take your advice straight away! I do have one question though. Are you saying that I should then continue to use the ChickHen R2 installer, or should i simply continue using the well thought out and indepth guide your sig links to after doing as you suggested?

srry i cant understand you . your asking if you still need to use ChickHen ? no need since you got psp1000 (fully hackable) just follow the guide and update to 6.60 ME-1.6

Well .. Just a suggestion ..

Don't use ChickHen v2 ( just a suggestion ) anymore ..
Instead , upgrade 5.03 to 6.20 PRO B-10 the one that RoXante gave me ..

well if your not gonna share then stfu plus there are plenty of super guides on this site so i doubt we need another guide on how to install anything here
