PSP 3000 version 6.6 hack????

Hi, everyone.
this is my first time here.
I don't know am I in the right place, but I really need you guys' help.

I bought a PSP 3000 during the thanksgiving, I would like to jailbreak it, but I really don't know how to do it.
And people also told me that if I do it inappropriately, it might be nonfunctional.

Therefore, I hope someone here can help me, and give me more details about it.
I only know that it's version 6.6, and PSP 3000.

What should I do next?

There are essentially two different types of PSP, a hackable and an unhackable. Yours is an unhackable. However, you can run a "lite" custom firmware that runs in memory yet still is for most purposes a full custom firmware. The only downside is that when you turn off the PSP or the batteries dies/is taken out, then you'll need to run the exploit again to "turn on the CFW" again.

What you're looking for is called 6.60LME and it is available here in our Downloads section. If you try to run a full custom firmware like 6.60ME, then your PSP will brick.

Update from NeurOn. Place the "installer" and "launcher" folders into your "GAME" folder on you memory stick and execute the "installer" first. Once thats done, execute the "launcher" and it will re-boot into LCFW

Hi, just signed up here as well, and saw that this thread was extremely helpful in answering some of my questions. However I was wondering, I also have a psp 3000 (the serial code states it as a PSP - 3001) I got it around the time of the bundle with Assasins Creed. I had firmware 6.60 on it and was wondering if I should follow the original response of getting the light version or is there another way to make it more permanent? Also will I still be able to play and use all of the games that I have downloaded off of the PSN and the ability to play my umds?

first if you want perm cfw on the 3k your gonna have to downgrade from 6.60 to 6.20 to be able to use the patch or you can just use the lite custom firmware 6.60 LME its not perm but if you never shut down the psp you wont lose the lite cfw so just put the psp into sleep mode its your choice

Thank you for the quick response! Thats kind of what I was thinking, less risk that way - though as I play around with the lite version I may want to make that a permanent choice. I did however notice an issue, while I was in the lite CFW I was unable to launch the SNEX9x TYL to play some SNES games. The screen just hung at the PSP white screen then seemed to shut down. Could this be because of the lite version or maybe I need to reinstall the emulator. Thanks again for your help!

...sorry for too many questions that sounds annoying but, i just wanna be careful with the mod. some thread says PSP3000 (is PSP3004 part of this?) are unhackable, but you said if we downgrade to 6.20 we can install permanent CFW (6.20 Perma Patch)...otherwise to use the 6.60 LME?

i my self run 6.20 pro b10 perm on my 3k and psp go but if this is your fist time messing with unhackable psp's i would just stick to 6.60 LMEv1.6
