I've hacked a number of PSPs before and I have general knowledge on it works. But when I try to hack my friends PSP 1000 it doesn't work. When I put the battery in, it just boots into the start screen. I have made a magic memory stick, and have tried several different memory stick makers. Its running 6.60 OFW, but to my understanding, it shouldn't matter. He has a weird battery that looks like this

I don't know if its the PSP, the firmware, or the battery
    Thanks in advance

You don't need a Pandora Battery to hack a PSP anymore . What exactly are you trying to do ?

    You have 2 choices : 6.60 PRO B-10fix1 or 6.60 ME 1.8

    For 6.60 PRO B-10fix1 :

Download 6.60 PRO B-10fix from here 6.60PRO-B10 fix - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP Forum, Hack PSP, PSV Hacks, PS Vita Hack, PSVita
Extract PROUPDATE and CIPL_Flasher folders to PSP\GAME folder
From XMB under Game run PROUPDATE then CIPL_Flasher
Now you are on 6.60 PRO B-10fix1

    For 6.60 ME 1.8 :

Download 6.60 ME 1.8 (OFW version) from here 6.60ME-1.8 (OFW Version) - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP Forum, Hack PSP, PSV Hacks, PS Vita Hack, PSVita
Extract me_installer folder to PSP\GAME folder
    From XMB run me_installer
Now you are on 6.60 ME 1.8

You're welcome ! That's what we're here for . Since you're hacking a PSP 1000 just know that it is not limited to any CFW , it can run any custom firmware you want it to. You can use Hellcat's Recovery Flasher to back to an earlier CFW like 5.00 M33-6 or 5.50 GEN D-3 in a snap .
