Hello, and a question about devhook

Hi all,

I've just got rid of my r4 ds and now want to get a psp. A friend of a friend has one for sale that is a psp 1000 running firmware 1.5 with devhook 0.43 installed. He says it plays umd games great of the memory stick, but will it play ps one games?

Also is a psp 1000 the best way to go, or should I get a 2000 with the upgraded memory?
