you should be able to update the firmware to the latest one which is 6.60. try on the system software update or not get the ofw file on the download section or here FaustNero: Firmwall

Hey guys, I used to do all the hacking stuff to psp's long ago.
I bought my first one when the psp 1000 came out, and I did that one along with many for friends.
However, my psp broke and I never got another.
Three days ago, a friend whos psp I hacked gave me his old one.
I tried to play an iso on it, but it wouldn't work. I then discovered it had 3.73 ofw on it.
Not the 3.73m33 I had put on it long ago.
Long story short, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get back into custom firmware.
Following a guide I had found, I put 5.03 ofw on it, then later on in the guide I found out that it won't work with mine.
Can someone help an old psp veteran out? I don't even know where to begin.
Currently, I am running 5.03 ofw on a psp 1000 phat.
Also, I've got simple goals with this. I'm not looking for all the fancy emulators, and applications, and XMB themes I used to do.
I just want to play Valhalla Knights and Monster Hunter again.

yep. same thing.
what file did you use tho? 6.60ME-ofw version?
alright, that's great! just put the iso/cso in the ISO folder which is located by default at the root of the ms. psx and emulators go to the game folder withing the psp folder.
talking about illegdal downloading of games here will result to infractions and a penalty. please read the rules
I'm not illegally downloading them.
I buy the game and rip it from the umd and play it from the memory stick because I cannot stand the sound of the umd spinning.
Just gets on my nerves so much.
Although I will admit that I have downloaded a few games to try before I buy.
