Do I need to sign my PS1 eboot before using it on LME 1.6?

Hello There,

I was just wondering if you could enlighten me?

I am currently using PSP 3003 OFW 6.60 and am going to install LME 1.6 as I have read this will work on my PSP - fingers crossed.

I have a PS1 disc that I want to play on the PSP (considering my PS1 broke years ago) but was wondering what the best way to do this was. I believe that LME 1.6 allows you to run homebrews but was wondering if this PS1 eboot had to signed before it could work on the PSP or if I could just run it unsigned. Obviously, I want to stay well away from "bricking" my PSP and was wondering if you guys steer me in the right direction?

(Sorry if I got any of the above wrong, I only recently bought this PSP and I am much more confident messing around with Windows)

No you should be fine. Basically when you install a custom firmware or in your case a light custom firmware, you are more or less giving the system to run anything coded for it. Now you do get a few extras when you install cfw (such as ISO mounting and plugin usage), but in reality you're using CFW to run unsigned code. So no you should just convert your PS1 disc to eboot and then play.

Thank you for the reply, works perfectly I just didnt want to go through signing it if I didnt have to as, knowing me, I will mess it up!
