What model PSP do you have?

After months of hibernation, ive decided to revive my PSP. I last got stuck on 5.03 ChickHEN because for some reason i wasnt able to upgrade to 5.03 Prometheus or 5.50GEN D3. Somehow the flashing ALWAYS fail to work. I see there are some newer stuff floating around and was wondering what can I do now. If im not mistaken, 6.60ME-1.8 is a good one to have now? And how do i go about doing that? The readme's can be quite misleading at times.
Ah yes forgot to mention that. Ive got a PSP-2000 slim. TA-088 v1/v2 according to PSPident.
Anyway just powered up my PSP to check and i realised the version number just shows 5.03 when it used to show 5.03 ChickHEN or something last time. Did it magically return to stock firmware?
If you have a TA-088v1/v2 like you say, then update to 6.60 and then use this:6.60ME-1.8 (OFW Version) - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums

Ok I just updated to official 6.60 successfully and also downloaded the 6.60ME-1.8 OFW version from the link you provided. However i dont quite understand the readme. It said
1. copy UPDATE folder at ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
2. Put 6.60 official update at ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/660.PBP, or let the program download it for you can use a wifi connection.
3. Run installer from xmb.
So I just leave the official firmware named as 660.PBP in my UPDATE folder? Then where do i copy the folders in the 6.60ME-1.8 zip file? Do i put me_installer into the same folder as GAME or UPDATE?
EDIT: nevermind got it! Was a lot more straight forward than i thought. Thanks for the help!
