everyone seems to be raving about graphics and shit but can any of you really say your impressed with them? maybe its just me but in all fairness i dont think any of the new gen consoles are really anything to jump about? i dont think they all that! yeah the 360 graphics are a little better then the xbox and yes the ps3 is better then ps2 but dont you think its about time they developed a console thats games were more movie like quality!
when we moved from the likes of the nes, snes and mega drive to the ps's and xbox's that was i big improvement but since then there aint been much to write home about
lol... gow is basically winback/kill.switch. the whole "cover and kill" technique has been done long before... and it was more innovative back in 1997
i agree with the "graphics vs system advancement" statement. i didnt notice much of a change from the ps2 to the ps3. in magazines, im becoming more and more dependant on the previews actually telling me what system the game is coming out on. ps2 and ps3 are alot alike now. its not like the jump from the snes to n64, or when the ps1 made its debut. people were blown away. the new graphics amazed them. these days it seems we've pushed the limits on graphics and can no longer make affordable systems that show real progress in the art of video games
im just scared the 360 will stop improving within itself becasue they are so limited in the amount they can actually put on one disc
disk size wont limit the 360. they still have the Live network. World of Warcraft is a massive game, and its not all contained on the 6 installer cds (around 3.5gb or so), but online instead. whos to say that more games wont become dependant on downloading information in order to play the game? maybe the disks will hold the video files, music, menus, etc, and the rest of the game is streamed via XBL. disk size isnt whats important, it comes down to how the developers use it. disks only costs a few cents to make anyway, so whos to say they wont start releasing double disk games again
SONY has Confirmed!
E3 07: 60GB PS3 $499, 80GB due in August - PlayStation 3 News at GameSpot
Along with that, by August, for $100 more, we are getting an 80gb model with the game MotorStorm.
yeah tossing another link
KOTV.com - The News On 6
talks about them releaseing 100 new games and 15 system only games.
By the way Julie nice Corgi looks like mine, and also the current size for WoW is over 9 Gigs.

1.50->3.40OE im sorry but an xtra 20 gigs with a $50 game isnt worth an xtra 100. I added a 120 gig drive to my ps3 for a little under $90 cad and got a used motorstorm game for $35 cad
i was talking about the size of wow just on the cds... you easly double the size of the file when you patch it
I LOL at you people. Those screenshots are pretty much all gameplay. If the HUD on the screens dont tell you that, I dont know what else will. With the exception of Final Fantasy Versus 13, these are all screen taken from playable demos. FF13 was also just a trailer, but it did show a battle, didnt it? And it looked nearly exactly the same as the cut scenes.
Eight Days was gameplay,
FF13 was,
Versus wasnt,
GTAIV was,
Haze was,
Heavenly Sword was, and looks much better now too,
not sure about Heavy Rain,
White Knight Story was.
And there are many great exclusive games coming out before the end of the year. Just to mention a few:
Heavenly Sword,
Metal Gear Solid 4 (maybe 2007)
Lair
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (already out)
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Warhawk
Haze
Ratchet and Clank
Folklore
and quite a few more, (and not to mention some of the good titles that are already out such as Motorstorm and Resistance)
These are all amazing games, and a much better line up than anything ive seen on the 360 or Wii, imo.
And how is disc size not going to limit the 360? Live has nothing to do with this. Games like Uncharted: Drakes Fortune would have to be on many many discs for the raw playthrough. If it only had some of the basic large files and youd have to download the rest, that means it basicly forces you to sign up to Live and pay a crappy monthly fee just to be able to play games normally.
Anyway, I have 5 games at the moment, 4 of which are great exclusive titles. That with what your actually getting for the money youve spent in the hardware itself, is definitely worth it. Not if you already have another system, but that goes both ways, I cant afford a 360 now that I have a PS3. 360 has some good games too, but its not my type.

The main selling point for the 360 (for most people) is the ability to play halo 3. I dont really care for halo, so screw that. Sony has alot better exclusive titles than xbox.
Checked around at a few stores-
GameStop/EB Games- Price Cut
Best Buy- Price Cut
Circut City- Price Cut+Free Controller!
Target- Reported from friend, prices were cut!

I love circuit city. I should get a job there, then i can take advantage of the employee discount and their kick ass sales. A free controller saves you $50 right off the bat.
