wait what, what is this bricking crap? isw it legit or not? cuz ive had my hdd for like 2 years and for all i know ive coulda googled something and visited that site long enough to gain a cookie or temp file. Now i dont support ps3news am not a member, and as a homebrew user im definitely not wanting to piss off some cool russians(i fully condone the use of wildcard and M33 homebrew) so whats this all about?

If you are a member of ps3 news and have their cookies/cache the updater sees that and will not run bricking the system..

I didn't even read that at first I just ran it.

Good question, I don't actually know, I can't see how it would know if they were on your PC.. But clear the cache on your psp, and on your computer..

Then download it from dl.qj.net (pspupdates.com) or psp-hacks.com not anywhere else.

i dont think anyone one knows the exact specifics on that except the M33TEEM themselves, cuz noone really has specified that anywhere, but its cool. I couldnt give 2 shits and a fuck about ps3news, all i know is im looking forward to more M33TEEM homebrews in the future......thats for sure

i don't intend to, if that wasn't obvious. i'm just stating my opinion, bricking someone's psp is BS. period. like skud said, for all i know i could have had a cookie from google or something. you could have too, and seeing as you said you didn't read that part before flashing your psp it's a damn good thing you didn't, or you would be enjoying a nice paperweight right now. all i'm saying is that it's very uncool, and i predict that someone will inadvertently brick their psp due to this who didn't deserve it. i don't think DAX would have ever done something like this.

I agree, im the type of person who has no problems with someone who has no problems with me ya know, so I say the M33 team did awesome on there 3.52, but the bricking ur psp thing is a little overboard, even Sony-Like, ofcourse sonys FW dont brick ur psp they just dont allow it to be downgraded(Yet). i say if ya want to shutout someone that bad just make so it doesnt upgrade, not brickit! But i understand what happens when someone gets mad, and what happens when they cool down. I think the M33 team will rethink their psp bricking decision, and change it after they cool down a bit.

best be puttin that on record.

i certainly hope so. i really like some of the new features they've added. i was planning to upgrade tomorrow or the next day when my new faceplate gets here. making it so it won't run at all would have been totally acceptable IMO, i just don't want to see anyone ruin a $200 piece of equipment, or more if you got a colored one from japan on ebay or something. someone made a guide on here as a joke a while back on how to brick you psp, telling them to delete the entire flash0, and even though it was labeled as a joke it was pulled in fear of some noob actually using it not knowing what he was doing. i have that same feeling about this as well, unfortunately. but yeah, hopefully update 4 will solve this "issue".

Just updated to 3.52 M33-3, i must say this is the most powerful firmware on earth yet!

Finally, the years-awaited UMD Video iso playback is here

. I've tested quite a few v1.5 UMD video isos, they all work like a charm. but i don't have any v2.0 UMD video iso, anyone knows whether v2.0 UMD video can run?

Also, life's never been this easy with the immediate access to the flash memories & UMD content thru the mere USB connection right in the XMB. no longer need to boot into Recovery mode to do so.

Currently set the XMB CPU speed to 133Mhz to see how it affects the overall XMB navigation experience, and to see how far it could preserve the battery life, as compared to default setting. Any speed below 133 would introduce serious lagging, so no point to try it out. Or can anyone suggest on what occasion, setting CPU speed to below 133Mhz (and even the 20Mhz) could be useful?

btw, I found the video clips/trailers downloaded from www.gamecrapping.com (this site sure got hell loads of PSP-formatted videos

) to be matching UMD movie in term of visual quality. If we could transcode our video to this quality, we don't need UMD movie no more, do we? Anyone knows how to transcode to this quality?

As long as u don't download the updater from that ps3*** website, and u never edit any single bit of the updater, there is no fear of brick.

I didn't have any problems updating with this. But I wanted to ask something, can I still use my XMB themes and the network reboot thing on this? I had them on 3.52 M33-2, don't want to screw it up so I wanted to ask first. Also, should I backup my flash0 again? Is it different than the flash0 from M33-2?

wat is all this about anyways y do they have a problem with ps3 news (not that ive ever heard of them) all you have to do to avoid a brick is go to your internet options and delet temperary internet files and the cookies and history (you all ready know how to do it on your psp i hope). i know that most of you know this allready but just wanted to inform some of the noobs that didnt know because a brick isnt nice

Wait a sec...a website can brick the PSP just because someone might have been browsing on it with the PSP before updating? How the hell is that? I just updated without knowing this, but at least nothing bad happened...I thought they meant this update downloaded from ps3news was screwed up.

EDIT: OMG! THIS THING JUST BRICKED WITH THAT NEW MENU FROM THE XMB! I was trying to put a new XMB and it gave me from error when replacing files and now nothing! Where is the recovery menu? PLZ tell me its not in Flash0!
