Default 3.52M33 update 3 is out!!

Keep your PSP on until hopefully someone gets a back-up, but it should just be a corrupt file that didn't work with m33 3.52-3. At best, a error while going into the menu.

EDIT: OMG! THIS THING JUST BRICKED WITH THAT NEW MENU FROM THE XMB! I was trying to put a new XMB and it gave me from error when replacing files and now nothing! Where is the recovery menu? PLZ tell me its not in Flash0!
Thats a semi-brick through flashing themes nothing to do with the updater

No, Flash0 is gone, blank!! I can't get into recovery menu...it gave me error when putting the theme but still replaced some as it was pasting. Why the hell did they put the feature to activate Flash0 in the XMB if you can't edit them while it is still in the actual XMB?!

Edit: Actually, I think if you use Flash0 through the XMB in this new thing it will allow you to copy, cut, delete, but not actually paste....didn't let me paste and now I have a brick. But maybe later on I will have good news and maybe I will try that guy from eBay that fixes bricks for $40. I really don't have much money right now and the guy I bought this PSP from still owes me for a UMD game and a 2GB MS, so if he gives me that back I might just try to send this thing to get fixed.

Default 3.52M33 update 3 is out!!

IF you really want to know what happened then read the first 10 pages or so of this thread Team Wildcard release - QJ.NET Forums

basically Ps3news hacked into maxconsole and stole the source from team wildcard and released it publicly---team wildcard never wanted the source public and thats why m33 is jumping on board in defense of these guys

Quote:
This next one is a LITTLE clarification about what has transpired the last 24 hours concerning Team M33’s newest release, CFW 3.52 Update #3. Apparently, the program has refused to work and, in more serious incidents, have bricked a number of PSP units because of issues with some sites and the program’s license.

QJ.NET reader MikeyMike01 sent us the information below in the hope that all misunderstandings and issues will be resolved. Here’s the message, verbatim:

Going to, or having gone to “Criminal” Sites does not, and cannot cause a brick.
Upon completion of installation, one can still visit “Criminal” Sites
The ONLY code implemented by team M33 is one that checks to make sure that the MD5 is the correct one. Any editing of the installation (Including ICON0, etc.) done will result in a non-functional bricked PSP. Any files on “Criminal” sites have been edited, and thus are causing brickage.
The one hosted here on QJ is not an intentional bricker, which does not carry any higher risk of bricking than any other CFW install (Next to none)
That clears a whole lot of conspiracy theories and rumors floating around the interwebs, right? Lesson to be learned: be careful and check out readmes that come with anything you install on your PSPs. It doesn’t hurt to be cautious.

——————————————————————————–
UPDATE: MikeyMike01 has sent us another bit of information regarding the clarifications. Apparently, the tipster was referring to visiting the “Criminal” sites using a PC (bricking your PSP because you visited a site on your PC is quite absurd). According to MikeyMike01, in case you did visit the Criminal site on your PSP browser, “you still have to delete your ms0:/SYSTEM/BROWSER folder”.

Haha Yeah, I'll wait till the next update. I'm not risking my PSP for some drama that I'm not involved in.

Default 3.52M33 update 3 is out!!

i just upgraded now that the "bricking" issue has been clarified (thanks vocoder for the installer, saves a bit of time). works great so far. i have one question. i can't get my wallpaper/wave to work like in 3.40. i open the .jpg in paint, save as "01-12.bmp" and i change the file type to .png. this always worked before but now it isn't showing up. what's the trick to do it on this firmware?
